Group of eight small format photos from the estate of Feldwebel Josef “Jupp” Ansmann. Ansmann was an infantry NCO who was killed in Croatia on 17 February 1945. Ansmann and his comrades wear the Army tropical uniform, with pith helmets. Ansmann is shown wearing the Infantry Assault Badge, General Assault Badge, Wound Badge, and ribbons for the Iron Cross 2nd Class and Eastern Front Medal. The portrait photo has written on the back (in German) “In remembrance of my vacation 16 June 1944” and is signed by Ansmann. All photos are small format (approx.. 3 x 2 ½ in and smaller). The photos are mounted in a modern non-WWII photo album and will be removed for mailing. Condition I-
