MB-1100 Hindenburg WWI Service "Widows Cross"
$40.00
Honor Cross of World War I (“Hindenburg Cross”) for widows and parents. Instituted in July 1934 by Reichs President Field Marshall von Hindenburg to honor widows and parents of those who perished or were MIA in the World War. The medal is blackened iron with a little wear to the highlights. Marked on the back G9, the logo of a consortium of manufacturers. Slightly soiled ribbon that has been mounted for a medal bar, but without a pin. These are rarer than the crosses with swords for combatants: over 6 million crosses with swords were awarded, but only a little over 700,000 “widows crosses.” Condition II
